How we started helping

About spine and posture care

When Spine and Posture Care opened in Sydney back in 2013 we noticed a growing trend of people who came in experiencing pain which was gradually getting worse over time.

Worse still, we saw people who would experience pain relief only for the problem to come back months or even only weeks later sometimes more intense than before.

In this time we have made it our goal to not only treat the symptoms you experience but find the underlying cause of your problem to help stop the pain and discomfort you feel from coming back.

Our Story

I feel your pain.

I feel it from a place that’s close to home because it was one of the biggest motivators for me to become a chiropractor in Sydney. I’ll tell you more about that in a moment.

Pain and discomfort are an unfortunate problem and chances are you’re reading this because you’re probably feeling one of them.

They’re the problems you get which don’t stop you from living your everyday life, but are starting to limit you from doing what you want.

The problems that cause the pesky thought in the back of your head saying “Is this going to cause my pain to come back or get worse.”

My mum went through the first 30 years of her life without an issue. The next 20 were a lot worse. Mum is a pharmacist; her job requires her to spend the day alternating between long periods of sitting to long periods of standing.

As a child I remember her coming home at the end of every day with a different pain. Lower back pain one day, neck pain the next and headaches in between. She felt helpless because she didn’t know what to do about it.

She tried so many different things but only ever got short term relief. It wasn’t until she saw a family friend who was a chiropractor that her pain started disappearing in the long term.

She always tell this story and I’ve wanted to be a chiropractor ever since,

At the end of the day it comes down to what your goal is and what you want. Do you want to:

  • Get rid of your pain
  • Improve your posture
  • Go back to playing with your children without worrying about that pain flaring up
  • Do you want to move better and feel better?

It’s all up to you. I’m here to help.

My name is Dr Mark El-Hayek. I’m the head chiropractor and owner of Spine and Posture Care graduating from Macquarie University with a Masters of Chiropractic and a Bachelor of Medical Science majoring in human anatomy, physiology and neurobiology.

If you experience that nagging neck pain, lower back pain or problem anywhere in your spine, I know what you’re going through and I’m here to help when you’re ready.

Chiropractor at Sydney CBD clinic (Macquarie St) and Barangaroo

Dr Mark El-Hayek is the owner of Spine and Posture care in Sydney CBD and Barangaroo. He leads the team with one clear goal: make spinal care clinically honest, practically useful and most importantly effective in the short and long term for people who’ve already tried everything else.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Medical Science in neurobiology, physiology, and human anatomy, followed by a Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University. He’s fully registered with AHPRA and has spent over a decade treating and teaching spinal and posture focused care for patients across Sydney. His chiropractic treatment is focused around spinal rehabilitation and improving biomechanics to not only get rid of pain but stop it from coming back.

Most of his patients don’t come in looking for a first opinion. They come in after trying stretching, massage, exercise and still feel like they’re not progressing like they should. Mark’s role is to map out why the problem keeps returning, what the body is doing to cope, and how to stop the issue from being a short term fix.

Beyond the clinic, Mark is a recognised speaker in corporate health, regularly presenting to Sydney based companies on posture mechanics, injury risk, and workplace strain. He has also been featured in the Sunday Telegraph, GQ magazine, Forbes, CNN and NCOA for his insight into the long term impact of postural issues, spinal health and ergonomics.

His communication style is friendly, direct and grounded in biomechanics. Whether he’s speaking to patients, mentoring other chiropractors, or addressing a room full of executives, his goal is the same, which is to stop the guesswork, clarify the process, and help people understand their body.

Dr Mitch Chiropractor at Spine and Posture Care Sydney

Dr Mitchell Taylor

Chiropractor at Spine and Posture Care Sydney (Macquarie St)

Dr Mitch is a qualified and registered chiropractor who helps people improve the way their body moves, holds posture, and recovers from strain. He completed both his Bachelor and Master of Chiropractic degrees at Macquarie University and is fully registered with AHPRA.

He works with a wide range of patients from people with long standing back or neck issues, to those who simply feel like their body isn’t moving the way it used to. His focus is on improving posture, reducing unnecessary pressure on the spine, and helping the body work more efficiently throughout the day.

In each consultation, Mitch takes the time to understand where your symptoms are coming from. how they’re affecting your body and the symptoms its causing. He looks at how you sit, stand, and move, and how those habits may be affecting your spine. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs and adjusted as your body starts to change and improve.

Patients often see Mitch when things feel “off” but haven’t improved with other forms of treatment. His goal is to make sure the changes happening during care are not only noticeable but also long lasting.

Outside of the clinic, Mitch keeps active with strength training and regularly updates his knowledge on rehabilitation, movement, and posture to ensure he’s giving patients the most up to date care possible.

Dr Harrison Nicolaou

Chiropractor at Spine and Posture Care Sydney (Macquarie St)

Dr Harrison is a Sydney CBD based chiropractor who focuses on posture, spinal pain, desk-based strain, and the daily tension that builds up from long hours sitting, lifting, or working in unsupported positions.

He holds a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University. He is fully registered with AHPRA, adhering to the national standards for clinical safety and ethical care. His patients range from office professionals and labourers to active individuals struggling with recurring back pain, neck tightness, lower back pain, poor posture and tension related headaches.

Harrison’s approach is built on clarity and process. He begins with a comprehensive spinal and postural assessment, identifying how your body is moving, where it’s overworking, and what patterns may be causing discomfort to keep returning. From there, he uses tailored chiropractic care to reduce joint restriction, ease muscle load, and help restore movement without relying on guesswork.

What patients value most is Harrison’s ability to make their situation make sense. He explains clearly, doesn’t overcomplicate, and shows you exactly what’s happening and what’s next. His care is outcome focused but realistic. You won’t get hype, quick-fix promises, or gimmicks, just honest, professional support backed by training and experience.

Outside the clinic, Harrison stays active and social usually at the gym, hunting for a great feed, or talking posture with whoever’s keen.

Dr Leonardo Abboud

Chiropractor at Spine and Posture Care Sydney (Macquarie St)

Dr Leonardo is a chiropractor who works closely with patients whose posture and spinal function have gradually changed over time. Most people he sees are dealing with recurring injuries in their spine, muscles or nerves that just won’t fully get better.

His approach focuses on identifying how the spine has changed over time and how body has been compensating to get through daily tasks. That often includes assessing how different parts of the spine are moving and how the surrounding areas and muscles are compensating. His chiropractic treatment is targeted to improve spinal movement and reduce the demand on surrounding muscles and joints.

Leonardo holds a Bachelor and Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University and is fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). He works from the clinic’s Sydney CBD location, where he provides care that supports long term improvement as well as working to get immediate symptomatic relief. His patients are often people who have tried general therapies without lasting change and are looking for a more structured, progressive solution.

Each step of care is explained clearly and adjusted to suit what the spine can handle at that point in time. His goal is not just to reduce symptoms but to improve how well the spine supports the body throughout the day.

Dr Zack Mesevage

Chiropractor at Spine and Posture Care Barangaroo

Dr Zack is a chiropractor based at our Barangaroo clinic in Sydney who works with people looking to improve the way their spine supports them through work, training, and everyday movement. Most of the patients he sees are professionals who spend long hours at a desk or individuals whose spines has taken on more stress than it can comfortably manage.

Zack’s focus is on identifying where the spine has become restricted and where the surrounding structures are overcompensating. He looks at how the body is moving, which patterns are being repeated, and which areas need better support. Treatment is based on addressing those specific areas and not just chasing symptoms.

He completed both his Bachelor and Master of Chiropractic at Macquarie University and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). His approach is structured, patient specific, and designed to create changes that last between treatments. He places strong emphasis on restoring function, not just reducing discomfort.

Patients often say they feel more confident understanding how their spine is being treated and what role they can play in making progress. Zack ensures every recommendation is clear, relevant, and backed by what he’s seeing clinically.
